Inside the box

Grading companies have a preference, and it is not a screw-down or a toploader. Graders want a semi-rigid holder that is easy to grip, easy to pull the card from, and stiff enough to survive the trip. That is what these are. At 3 5/16" x 4 7/8" outside, they are a touch larger than a toploader, and that extra space fits the soft sleeve with enough card showing to pull it cleanly.

Two hundred is a comfortable count for a collector who submits a few times a year. It covers a submission or two, with plenty left for the cards still waiting on a decision. Sleeve the card first in the 2.6" x 3.6" soft sleeve, slide it into the holder, and it is ready for the slab or for the long box. The PVC is acid-free and clear enough to read a card number through.

What it does well

  • Semi-rigid holders are the format graders prefer, because the card slides out cleanly without prying at the corners.
  • At 3 5/16" x 4 7/8" outside, there is headroom for a soft sleeve and for larger trading cards.
  • Each holder comes with its own 2.6" x 3.6" soft sleeve, so the surface stays protected during handling.
  • Two hundred covers a few submissions a year, with extras to store raw cards you have not decided on.

What 200 holders really means

How far this set goes

Simple arithmetic from the number of shells in the box, so you can match the count to your pile.

Questions about this set

?Why not just send cards for grading in toploaders?

Graders have to remove every card, and toploaders grip tightly, which invites corner damage on the way out. A semi-rigid holder flexes just enough to release the card gently. That is why these are sized and shaped the way they are.

?Are 200 holders enough for occasional grading?

If you send a modest batch a few times a year, yes. Two hundred also leaves room to keep promising raw cards in the same holders until you decide which ones are worth the fee. Bulk submitters will want the larger count.
