Graders ask for semi-rigid holders, not toploaders, because the card has to come out cleanly on their bench. Ours are 3 5/16" x 4 7/8" acid-free PVC with a matching 2.6" x 3.6" soft sleeve, in 100 to 1000 pairs.

About semi-rigid holders
?Why do graders prefer semi-rigids to toploaders?
A semi-rigid flexes enough for the card to slide out without the grader pinching a corner. A rigid toploader can trap a card, and some services return or refuse them.
?Do I sleeve the card before it goes into the holder?
Yes. Soft sleeve first, then the semi-rigid. The sleeve keeps the surface off the holder and makes the card slide in straight instead of catching on the edge.
?Are they only for grading?
No. Plenty of collectors store raw cards in them because they are lighter than toploaders and stack flat in a storage box.
