Magnetic card holders: sizes, fit and when to use one
One-touch magnetic holders come in point sizes just like toploaders. Here is how ours fit and what they are best at.

Two clear halves and a magnet
A magnetic holder clamps a bare card in a recess between two pieces of clear plastic, held shut by a magnet. Ours have a gold magnet and a UV-coated shell. The inside measures 2.52" x 3.52" and the outside 2.87" x 4.33", 0.27" deep.
Point sizes
Magnetic holders are sold by card thickness in points, from 35pt upwards. PJU magnetic holders are 35pt, made for standard base cards, inserts and trading-card game cards. A thicker card will not let the magnet close properly, and you should never press it shut.
No sleeve inside
The recess is cut for a bare card. Putting a soft sleeve inside makes the card too thick for the closure and can leave marks. Handle the card by the edges, set it in, close the holder gently.
Good for display, fine for storage
A magnetic holder stands upright on a shelf or in a display case, which is what it is best at. For storage it works well too; just keep the holders out of direct sunlight even with the UV coating, and do not mail a card in one without a team bag and padding.
